Bergstan South Africa (SA) was established in 2005 after a three-year transformation period.

We are proud to have transformed from Liebenberg & Stander, which was established in 1954 by Charles Liebenberg and Ruben Stander. Today the firm is one of Southern Africa’s well-established consulting and development practices, operating in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, whilst responding to opportunities of providing quality services nationally and internationally.

Professional Registration & Governance

Bergstan SA is constituted and operates according to the requirements of the Engineering Professions of SA Act, 2000 (Act No. 46, 2000). The firm is a member firm of the Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA), and subscribes to the Code of Conduct as laid down by the Association.

No director has commercial interests that detract from the impartiality of the services performed by the practices. The directors and staff wholly own Bergstan SA.
